Overview

The K-Fellowship Program, established by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism

of the Republic of Korea in 2009, is a prestigious cultural exchange initiative designed

to foster international collaboration and mutual understanding in the cultural and creative sectors.

Now in its 17th year, this program continues to serve

as a vital bridge connecting Korea with the global cultural community. 

Mission

The K-Fellowship Program invites influential figures from around the world

—including cultural leaders, policymakers, artistic directors, and prominent individuals

in the performing arts, visual arts, literature, and broadcasting fields—

to experience Korean culture firsthand through a carefully curated program of engagement.

Rather than being limited to formal meetings and cultural experiences,

the program serves as a starting point for substantive interactions and ongoing collaborations

between international participants and Korean cultural institutions.

Since its inception, the K-Fellowship Program has welcomed over 200 distinguished figures from countries worldwide.

The program has evolved from simply hosting international visitors to creating meaningful connections

In 2025, the program has been further enhanced by directly connecting international guests 

with domestic cultural festivals and events, allowing for more targeted and productive exchanges.

This approach enables regional cultural arts organizations to meet with international leaders

they might otherwise not have access to, fostering new opportunities for collaboration.

Global Network

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with Korean Cultural Centers abroad,

actively supports the implementation of subsequent projects discussed during the fellowship.
